The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

Hey everyone, and welcome to our group.  Due to some recent activity on our forum I felt it was necessary to start this discussion thread.

What does it mean to "Go Green"?  To me, going green means living off the grid, growing your own vegetables, and being 100% self-sustaining.  It also means deciding to put that soda pop can in the recycling bin instead of the trash.  In other words, our little group is comprised of members who all share a common goal:  to become "green", even if that means just one little step at a time.  Not all of us can quit our jobs and build that house off-grid, but that doesn't mean you're not being a conscientous "green" person.

If you share this dream, you are welcome to our group.  We especially welcome those who can offer advice in green construction (yes, you can even put in a free plug for your business here)!  "Green" is a very confusing term for the average person these days, and your professional advice is invaluable to us.

We especialy welcome newcomers who are interested in a more sustainable life, and those who are actually living it.  Tell us about your trials and errors.  We love to hear your stories -- both failures and successes!  That's what this forum is all about.

If you have a dissenting opinion, by all means post it, but please be advised that this is a FRIENDLY neighborhood and we want to keep it that way.  Profanity and angry posts, especially against other members, will not be tolerated.  If you have an axe to grind, do it somewhere else.  If you have a valuable opinion and are respectful of others, you are welcome here.

That being said, welcome to our group!  I know I look forward to all of your posts and hope this has been an enjoyable and informative forum for all involved.

Namaste!  Rose
