The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

Hello all -

We are new to the log cabin world and are excited to get started on this new adventure.

The cabin we bought has interior logs that don't appear to ever have been sealed in any way - they look very much law raw wood.  Does anyone have suggestions for what would be the best product for protecting the logs and giving a slight sheen to them?

Hello Terry & Kim - you may want to try .  Our homeowners use it all the time.  Best of luck with your log home!

Thank you Don - much appreciated!  We'll give that a look.  Was considering Danish Wood Oil, but I'm not sure that will end up with the sheen we are looking for.

Thank you again Don. I just sent a message through the website to get some additional details regarding product coverage, etc.

Terry and Kim and perma chink makes an excellent interior go to our website at

and look under interior stains and pick as many colors you might want to see on your wood and we

will send you out stain samples for you to test out on your wood. Also when picking out colors or clear get a sample of our top coat sureshine gloss or satin and it will make your wood look beautiful.

Thanks Greg!  I have been in touch with your team and they have been incredibly helpful. I have about half a dozen samples and I think we are narrowing down our colors for both interior and exterior.  Lots to do......

Thanks again!
