Dear Log Home Neighborhood,
Would someone like to explain, in layman's terms, what is the general schedule in terms of different processes and the time they take, that is required to produce ready to assemble logs, starting from the felling of living trees.
The project I have in mind, is a very basic, remote log cabin which I would hope to have finished in the least time feasible, starting from self-supplied, fresh timber.
This is in no ways a thought out project, and I'm simply considering possibilities here. But the work should be done locally, and on-site to furthest extent possible.
Basic log lathe machinery is available.
Your insight on this subject is hugely appreciated.
And thanks for having me!
