The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

Here are some before, after, and during photos of our current log home maintenance and log restoration project near Evergreen, Colorado.  The log home was glass media blasted and then grinded with aluminum oxide disks.  Further prep included pressure washing and sanding to achieve a clean / sound surface.  We also removed all of the old chinking and backer.  Many folks on Log Home Neighborhood debate which process to use, media blasting vs sanding vs pressure washing, etc., but we just do them all, why not right?  The logs are now being finished with Sashco Transformation 'Log and Timber' Goldtone Medium stain with 4 - 5 coats and the chinking is Sashco Log Jam 'Buff' with 1-1/4" grip strip as backer.  This is a 5 week project for 5 experienced log home maintenance professionals for the price of $54,000.00
