Thanks Bob.....so if you had to list maybe the top items I should research locally or not include in my package other than shingles what would you suggest? What about the sticks for framing? That always seems to be one builders mention. I'm comfortable and really want to buy a package but then these guys get me second guessing. I really appreciate your perspective on this.

Bob question......I'm about to contact some log home companies to inquire about kits but every local builder I talk to says they can most likely get all the materials cheaper locally rather than buying say a "weathertight" package from a company several states away from the project. Can you advise on why this may or may not make sense?
