My husband Jimmy & I have finished our log home @ the present time & have very much enjoyed building it ourselves! Jimmy is a carpenter & had the skills to build saving thousands of dollars to hire a builder. We have subbed out the plumbing the central heat/ cooling units & finishing the sheetrock-upstaires. We cannot even work a full week-end without someone stopping by just to look- A log home is unique & a pleasure to just look at! Even the local UPS guy stopped & asked if he could please just have a quick look! You will enjoy having a log home! We spent our 1st Christmas in our log home & love it! It is very energy efficient & easy on the pocketbook...
Thanks

Are you lucky enough to be living in a log home?
Yes!
What timeframe are you looking to start your dream home?
Thanks Dian. We can't wait to complete our home, but know that we have to. Meanwhile we are enjoying the work and seeing the house grow. We put the last log on one wall of the house today and have only 28 more logs to fit before we start the foundations. Log homes need to be surrounded by trees, as yours is, which prompted my comment. We ARE blessed thank you. As are you I think!
Hi Dian, Thanks for adding me as a friend. I love your log home pictures, especially the Christmas tree/hearth picture and the porch. My husband is very impressed with the trophy deer mounts. We finished our log home about two years ago and had similar experiences with folks wanting to see it and even bring family to see it. We were more than willimg to show our dream to anyone who asked. Log homes are each such individual artistic expressions!
Thanks Dian for the blessing, I can always use them. :>) Sorry you got hurt and heres hoping that you will be able to start soon.
I am really excited to start staining the logs but the weather will not cooperate. It has constantly been high chance of showers and/or high humidity that's keeping me from getting started. I have the logs prepared and will do the outside first with TWP stain. Hoping for a high pressure weather system to roll in for a week or two.
