Dear Joanne & Rob, I seen that on your first comment you are new to this and were looking for guidance or tips. Even though we build all types of log homes, I see a lot of our customers going to our thoroughly dried milled log systems, because they not do use tension-tightening springs or suspension jack systems, there are not slider systems on the windows or larger trim or larger spacing around the windows for movement, also cabinets do have to be adjusted or on a slider stystem as well. There are good sytems out to deal with these issues if you were to use a log package that does need to accomodate those items. We accomodate those when we do hand-crafted. Also for potential movement in walls we would suggest that you use a company that does not use mixed species of logs for their homes, this will be an extra protector for you as well as keeping uniformity of color an grain better. As mentioned we do all types of log construction, this is just to give you and idea of what I have seen and so you may give it some thought, but ultimately it is going to be what works best for your wants and needs!!Happy Searching and hoped this helped!!
