Lynn, depending on which GC and which Manufacturer you decide to go with, we would supply a bid for the log and timber labor.  We specialize in the dry-in labor having extensive knowledge of close to 30 different manufacturer's products, (from D logs to handcrafted in the field) and can work with you and/or the GC that you choose to compare 'apples to apples' from the companies so that you get not only quality, but more bang for your buck.

On a different note we also provide handcrafted timber frame and post and beam log home packages that are energy star rated out of the box with our 'skins' package (our website can explain the majority of these services if you are interested in this type of home) and you actually deal with the guys designing, cutting, and installing the home, not sales reps.

Hi Lynn, My apologies I assumed that you lived in the area that you were planning on building in.  I would be happy to contact a few (literally 3) GCs that service the WNC area and are based out of Asheville.  Not tooting anyone's horn but I have worked around many and trust few.  Anyone that I would put you in contact with would be someone that I have worked with in the past and would trust with the construction of my own home.  All of these guys have 'open book' policies and would be able to provide you with the highest quality and painless construction process.  At this point, you are doing the right thing by RESEARCHING, and I would suggest doing this with all aspects of the construction process so that you know what you are going to get before breaking ground.  Write down any questions that pop up, and I would be happy to help answer any that I can.  Having built many different manufacturer's products I have a little insight on what comes in the packages and the quality of materials... Just keep one old adage in mind throughout the information process --- you can have 2 of 3 speed, quality, or cost.
