We have six windows and 2 doors to cut into are full scribed log home
I hope there is someone or some place I can find this detail that uses a chamfer cut on the outside of the log that will flush up to the window buck. I have seen pictures of this but no details to be found. Can any one help me out with this?

keeping it professional, No cutting down other, handcrafted log home is the kind of home I am going to build I have Chambers book and Mackie ....Who is more on top of there game?? thanks marty

so what i have is 24 douglas firs at an avg.of 24 inch at the butt end
.. this is the first cut ,,,,, this winter we will cut 33 more...but the avg. log will go down if i have to used all doug firs ,,,,,i have 5 grand fir with the but end at 26 inch and 10 silver firs with the butt end being 25 inch avg. IS IT OK TO MIX THE THREE DIFFERENT FIRS TOGETHER FOR MY WALL LOGS ?????

Some do some don't. It depends upon the species, moisture content and final location. It really is a compress to fit and not shrink to fit. If building with green logs it is better than not doing it but there are some things about the system that concerns me.
