My wife and I attended the show on Saturday after delaying from going Friday. I think we would have needed a canoe to get there on Friday due to the storm that hit. The show itself was much smaller then in the past but that was to be expected due to the economy. All the top builders were there and very friendly in their nicely laidout booths. They were all quite busy as might have been expected from the problems on Friday.
We spent a lot of time with one builder that we were…

Gone are the days when the term log homes conjured up images of small, single-room houses built off the beaten track for those who wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Today,
multi-room log homes are being built in most suburban locations on a
regular basis. They may be more expensive than traditional homes and
the associated labor costs when building a log home are high, but if
you stop to look at the advantages that log homes offer…

Well, where do we begin?
I guess we'll just say winter came. After a wonderful fall which we got a great start on things, winter came just a little too quick. Add to the mix a couple of bouts of pneumonia for both of us and a little OT at work dealing with the snow, and here we are in March. We did make a…

Friends, a Virus will appear but called "Vista Antivirus Pro 2010 Alert"
This is a serious virus that has surfaced recently. You will be surfing the web and all of a sudden a "anti virus" program will start to download at lightening speed. If you can react fast enough, do an immediate shut down using your "mechanical" computer button to stop the download. If it completes the download you are still ok as long as you DO NOT follow any of its…

With the outlines of the lower bathroom finished, Mr. Seals has turned
his attention to the kitchen, which is being installed on the upper
level in a former bedroom. Gabriel cleared the room out and Mr. Seals
moved in with his wrecking bar. What he found was not pleasant. The
joists were fashioned from logs that had been roughly hewn, and of
different sizes, making for an uneven floor. What was worse was the
rotting wood along the edges used to support the…
