Day in the country at Vintage Pine

We are purchasing reclaimed heart pine flooring from Rodger Childress, of Virginia Vintage Pine. Rodger and his wife paid us a visit at the log house, and he kindly offered to show us around should we head down to Farmville some day. I wanted to go, both to see his milling operation and to see his heart pine kitchen.

Hole in the middle

Since returning from France and Iceland, we have re-focused on the cabin. Fortunately, our Full Frontal Assault on the Fleas appears to have been successful, and so far the yellow jackets buzzing around the backyard have been content to remain in the depths of the bamboo.
