I would like to build a stick frame addition to my log home.  My home was built about 15 years ago.  Any thoughts about this?  I was curious If there were still concerns about settling?

No more settling to worry about in Montana with arid climate and snow loads after maybe 2 to 3 years of completion. In the most humid of climates with HVAC, maybe 3-4 years.

With all additions, whether stick, stone, log or straw, best architecturally and usually aesthetically to have a break in wall and roof line and not try to match things perfectly. Except of course, the fascia/gutter lines, which can be matched now without issue.
