I responded to the general blog so I'm not sure if I'm doing that again or if this is a seperate one. After having Greg Parks Builders construct our Kuhns Brother Log Home, I am very surprised that anyone would have a problem with Greg Parks. We live in Ohio and believe me I was concerned about having a contractor I knew very little about, building our vacation home in Maine. We too have 6 inch logs, and our home is not drafty at all. In fact it is very air tight. We have fuel oil forced hot air heat and use about 1400 gallons a year. And YES we are there in the winter for several weeks. To set the record straight, Greg Parks built the entire home, from excavation to the day we moved in. The only thing I did was hang some paper in the master bedroom. I was very pleased with all of his sub-trades, they appeared to be very professional. One thing I may ask Mr Larrabee is do you have insulation on the exterior of the basement walls? Did Greg Parks install it? Who designed your heating system? Was it installed by Greg Parks' HVAC people or someone else? We simply allowed Greg Parks to do what he needed to build our home and I must say it was above and beyond our expectations.
