We inhearted a small log cabin on a lake. I believe there are powder post beedles in the wood.
Small holes with wood powder under them.

If you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org I will reply back with a tech tip on beetles and what you can do about them. It's way to much info to post here. Good luck!

On bare wood, we recommend applying wood preservatives, wich is a 3 way protection against dry rot, fungi, and wood borates ( wood boring insects). Some preservative products include Penetreat or Shellguard RTU. But if you have sealers or stains already present, your preservatives will (not) perform properly, so, you will want to get a licensed exterminator to kill off any infestations (including eggs). Then you want to apply an insect repellant called NBS30, either in a water mixture, or in a recoat mixture.
If you ever decide to remove existing finishes, make sure you apply these wood preservatives before recoating.
