Hello Cui,

Your English is excellent and it is exciting to have you as a member of this community. What is just as exciting is to hear that you will literally be creating a new market in China. In north America we honor our "pioneers" that blazed new trails and ventured into the wilderness to establish new settlements, towns and create businesses. With your new venture in China, you qualify as a genuine Pioneer!

You have chosen a great company to partner with, and I wish you the best of luck and success in your new business. If you have questions about anything related to the log home industry - or building your business, this community has a lot of experienced and knowledgeable people who are eager to help.

Wow - all the way from China? It's so fantastic that we can be thousands of miles apart and yet be virtual neighbors. Welcome to the community! Please share your building experiences with us!

This gives a new meaning to "log distance building!" Good luck guys! We'd love it if you could keep us posted on the progress. (Thanks for the photos, Donald)

Again, good luck - can't wait to see the success as it unfolds!

Mr. Cui - WELCOME to the neighborhood! I put some photos of your visit with us last year on the web page! Looking forward to getting you folks started building log homes.

Cui,

Welcome. You will probably win the award for this neighborhood's most distant neighbor. Having you as a member will be very enlightening for all of us because we do not see a great deal of information about log homes from China.

I imagine you will be receiving a lot of questions from other readers. I also think that many will appreciate seeing pictures of your new home and your building process. It is always interesting to see "how it's done" in other parts of the world. If you do not mind, I would like to ask a few questions about things that I am sure others would like to know.

How popular are log homes in China? Is this becoming a trend, or are you the original "trend setter"? :-)

Did you buy a "log home package" from a manufacturer, or are you building this from plans you acquired or created yourself?

Are there log home manufacturers in China, or must projects such as yours be imported?

What types of wood are available? Are you using a soft wood like a pine variety, or a local mahogany species?

Please don't think me rude for asking so many questions, but we are hungry for information about China's log home activity. As you may know, log homes were an important part of north America's history, and their popularity continues to increase. However, most of us have very little knowledge of log home building in China today - or from a historical perspective.

Again, welcome to the neighborhood and I am very excited about seeing more pictures of your home as it is being built.

Mr. Cui...so good to see you on the Neighborhood. I am very pleased to see that you and Donald Parsons have been working together to get your first log home shipped to China. I very much hope I get an opportunity to come and visit with you. I can't wait to get a taste of that home brewed beer you spoke about during your visit with us last year.
