The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

As I've mentioned before, we have a lot of bear activity around our home. Just last month I posted "Bears... they're b-a-a-a-a-ck" here on this blog. Fortunately, these are black bears and not their unfriendly grizzly brothers. The problem is that as 'cute' as they are, and as much as we enjoy seeing them, they can be a pest when it comes to the contest of who gets the trash.

I think I just matched wits with Montana's smartest bear - and he won. No 'bear proof' electric fence was going to separate him from my trash. This cunning black bear actually dug under my fence to get to my trash cans and avoid the electric fence.

I tell the whole story on my Log Home bLog, so I won't repeat everything here, but today I have a whole new respect for the craftiness of black bears. See "Do Bears Frequent Your Log Home?"
