Looking around the photos and I have to say that they are perfect. The most interesting thing that caught in my mind was the main floor. Being the most important, one will know that the main floor is where people are going to be coming the most. One of the things that came into my mind is the flooring. When looking at the bathroom, it's interesting to see some people prefer tiles in bathrooms instead of wooden floors. Also for the washer and dryer, it would be nice to have a simple laundry room such as a closet so people cannot see them. In other-word's hide them. My other concern for flooring is kitchen. Is it good to have tiles or wood? Finally, for the living room, I would prefer having wooden floor because of the rustic feeling into the cabin. It would also bring a better feeling in the cabin. The only thing I would add is a rug, furniture set, a lamp, and T.V. Any suggestions on making a better main floor in a cabin?

I actually just read an article about maintaining wood floors. Anytime water is spilled on a wood floor(a few drops won't hurt), you should immediately clean the floor to protect it.

For this reason, I personally would use tile instead of wood flooring in bathrooms and kitchens.

Check out my blog on creating a casual cabin dining room:

There's a section with advice flooring what shade to use to achieve an intended atmosphere.

Hope this helps you!

Good topic, I'm thinking a master bedroom and a small second bedroom, for when I get old and my guest are old. Old people dont like climbing stairs, the kids can have the loft, also a powder room for guest, and a big mudroom/laundry combo, which is alot to pack into a modest 1200 sq. ft. floor plan, all tucking under the loft into 600. sq. ft. because I need the other 600 square for the kitchen/dinning and great room. I want it all on the main floor but its a tight fit.
