The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

I love the impossibly blue skies of winter, the skeletons of trees in the woods, watching my kids do snow angels, etc. But, listen Old Man, you've overstayed your welcome.

In usually temperate Virginia yesterday, the temps were 45, skies looked like the dull side of aluminum foil most of the day, and cruel rain seemed to mock the calendar.

But today? Glorious. I finally think spring has won the battle and nudged the Old Man away.

I don't have pictures to prove it, but I wonder if you do----got any NEW images of springtime in your neck of the woods? Share them here. Post away. I think everyone would love to see them.

Enjoy this day, my friends...

Well it finally looks like we may be able to get in this weekend, May 9th. Two weeks ago there was still 12-24 inches of snow on the ground with 3-4 foot drifts. Temps have been in the mid-50s during the day and some rain, so hopefully some melting has taken place.

Y'all back east are now getting our weather (rain & mtn snow) from last week. It was 80 here in northern Utah today, same again tomorrow. Weather/snow stations around our cabin are reporting the snow is melting at 4-6 inches a day and it is in the mid-60 up there for the next few days.

Won't be long.

Here's the good news.....

The bad news is that it's suppose to snow on Wednesday! Yikes!

Shad, you're sing my song about the bright side...

All these chilly temps and rain? Perfect small-mouth bass fishing on the Shenandoah River come July and August!

Take care, amigo...and thanks for (positively) chiming in.

I think you spoke to soon Michael! It's dull and rainy today, and certainly reminds me of fall. But all this rain will be good for the plants (and my allergies!), not to mention helping us out of this drought.

And speaking of droughts, all the people getting all that snow in Colorado, just remember; a lot of that run-off goes to the Colorado which has been at way below average for quite some time now. So this is all good! For trout, plants and droughts!

Glen, this is awesome. Patches of green mixed with the bright *summer* hues of the quilt, a promise of things to come. What a great thought to begin a Sunday. Thanks for sharing. Be well...
